Full length decking boards can be used to create patio top and rooftop decks easily and beautifully. A key benefit of the Mataverde Eurotec Deck System is that you can create rooftop deck designs without having to use square ‘deck tiles’. Although it is clear that using full length deck boards has many benefits, it is also important to know that not all roof deck joist systems are created equally.
The Mataverde® Eurotec® Deck System uses the patented Aluminum System Profile™ for the joists. These aluminum deck joists have many key advantages over conventional wood framing for rooftop deck designs.
EUROTEC ALUMINUM SYSTEM PROFILE vs. STANDARD WOOD DECK FRAMING:
- Strength. Eurotec aluminum joists are very strong, yet extremely lightweight when compared to wood deck framing.
- Don't overload your roof. Having lightweight framing is very important for rooftop decks where the extra weight load can be a structural or safety concern.

Sturdy and reliable. Unlike wood deck framing, the Eurotec Aluminum System Profile will not rot, warp, check, split or twist.

Stays put and doesn't misbehave. Aluminum joists stay straight and true, and will not ‘move around’ like wood framing. This creates an exceptionally stable and reliable deck framing system.

Decking remains straighter. This also helps keep your entire deck structure much flatter and more consistently level than using wood deck joists.

Low profile. The Aluminum System Profile has an overall height of 1-9/16”. This is much less than wood deck joists of the same strength. The reduced height allows for much lower clearance. When combined with the Eurotec adjustable deck pedestals, you can design a deck with a clearance as low as 4” from the top of the roof to the top of the decking boards.

Faster Installation. Simply ‘clicking’ the Aluminum System Profile into the ClickFoot adjustable deck pedestal is much faster than building a deck frame with wood. This saves you valuable time and helps reduce the labor cost to build your rooftop or patio top deck.
