The medium interlocking grains create a beautiful pattern and has the rich lustrous appearance of genuine mahogany, thanks to its inherent striping and color variation.

Like other hardwood decking and siding materials, Santa Maria hardwood decking will eventually age to a light silvery gray patina when left to weather naturally. With a coat of rosewood oil penetrating sealer, Santa Maria decking quickly shows its rich warm reddish brown tones and coloration. Santa Maria Decking Installation Tips & Techniques

Like other high and medium-high density hardwoods, special care should be taken when installing Santa Maria decking. Pre-drilling holes prior to screwing down the decking boards is one option. Another installation option for Santa Maria decking is to use the Ejector screw, which requires no pre-drilling of holes and provides very sturdy deck fastening.  For those of you who prefer to see only the beauty of the decking itself, you may want to consider a hidden fastener such as Mataverde Deck Clip concealed deck fasteners.
