Housing was becoming scarce in Seattles's sought-after Eastlake neighborhood when Shilshole Development, LLC undertook construction of the Shelton Eastlake Apartment Complex. The project team sought to attract a design-forward crowd when they installed 9,000 square feet of Slate Ebony Trespa Pura NFC® Siding on the project's exterior walls. The natural wood tones and contemporary appeal of the Trespa cladding complements neighboring structures and requires very little maintenance.

This lovely villa is located on a large plot in a wooded area. The client had many explicit requirements for the design. In addition to various aesthetic aspects, the villa had to be sustainable and energy neutral.

Other design goals were the owner’s desire to spend a minimum amount of time and energy in future maintenance and he wanted the villa to have a natural appearance that fit the landscape. This made Trespa Pura NFC® sidings the optimum choice for the exterior cladding.=

When he and his wife Carole had the opportunity to buy a plot of land a stone’s throw from the beach, they immediately decided it would be the perfect place for their dream home.

The villa and its spacious courtyard date back to 1908. For many years, it was owned by the local judge of the peace C.H.M.L. Wauters. Locals still refer to this estate as “the judge’s castle”.
